Getting Ready for the 2010 Season

When you are in the business of hanging and installing Christmas lights, you have to get started in late summer or early fall. It is important to plan ahead in order to have a successful season.

We placed our order for Christmas lights from our supplier in February but expect delivery the beginning of September. We get better prices when we order early. We ordered over 10,000 ft of C7/C9 wire and plenty of universal clips and photocell timers.

We are working with commercial retail clients now and will begin working with residential homeowners in October. If you are the type that likes to plan ahead and ensure you have a spot on our busy calendar, please request an estimate online. We do offer discounts for October installs.

We will have our full team back this year, including our installation superstar, Shawn! Shawn is a roofer at OverlandParkRoofRepair.com during the summer and hangs lights with us in the Fall and Winter. You have to see him in action. He has truly mastered his coefficient of gravity. It is impressive. He is right at home on ladders and roofs. He is fast and gets it done right the first time. He knows how long each run can be to avoid tripping GFIs or breakers. You can rest easy when you have Shawn doing your lights.

We will be contacting our current customers in October to begin scheduling installations. Please contact us if you have any special requests.

In addition to getting everything ready in Kansas City, we are also working with our nationwide installer partners to begin optimizing our Internet marketing and launch new partners. Takedowns Weather Permitting

We will be scheduling Christmas light takedowns and removals throughout the month of January, weather permitting. In order to keep our people safe and avoid injuries, we can only take down the lights when roofs are clear of snow. Winter Illuminations of Kansas City Holiday Lighting Services is busy transforming fine homes in the Ward Parkway area into spectacular holiday lighting displays! We completed another holiday light install between State Line and Ward Pkwy at 57th Ter yesterday. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best camera with us but the pictures still turned out alright. On this house we installed Classic Clear C7 Lights on the Roofline with Multi-Color Super Mini Lights in the front trees. These pictures should give you an idea of our designs but drive by the house to get the full effect! We plan to have a professional photographer take better pictures this weekend!

Minimum Project Increased to $500

Due to high demand and limited availability, Blue Valley Winter Illuminations is increasing our minimum project to $500. We are not the cheapest but you won’t find better quality. We are experts at centering bulbs at the peak of the roof, neatly hiding extension cords, taping all connections to avoid problems, using clips instead of staples, and delivering hassle free turnkey holiday lighting displays. We completed one install in Wilshire Farms today and have three more down the street planned for the weekend. This afternoon we are in Cedar Creek. We are currently booking installs for the week after Thanksgiving.

LED Christmas Lights

Winter Illuminations offers both regular Christmas Lights and LED Christmas Lights depending on property owner preferences. Regular Christmas Lights are less expensive but use more electricity and sometimes don’t last quite as many years. However, many people prefer the lower price and warmer glow of regular Christmas Lights. LED Christmas Lights emit no heat and use less electricity but are more expensive initially. Because 1 regular bulb consumes the same power as 32 LED lights, commercial property managers typically prefer the LED lights for larger displays that will be installed every year. C7/C9 LED roof lights come in both glass and plastic depending on the situation. Winter Illumination is one of the few Christmas Light installation contractors that offers glass LEDs that feature the classic look of candelabra bulbs but consume 1/32 the electricity. LED is perfect for property owners seeking to GO GREEN and SAVE GREEN!
